Sprung

Here are some pics from a recent trip to Provincetown.  The storms this winter washed up some pretty serious beach wrack!

Some sort of gigantic metal buoy.

And a bell buoy I was told washed up on Race Point all the way from Maine!

Here's a pic with Clovis for a sense of scale.

Clovis (and I) miss our walks on the beaches of the Outer Cape.

Here are some pics of Clovis reluctant to leave the blankets.  He and I agree that groundhog must be some kind of jerk.

Finally awake.  Plenty of sun, but it's still a cold spring.

Here's a curious piece of ephemera I came across at Brown University's amazing Hay Library.  A tiny pamphlet on controversial Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest--from 1888.  The tiny booklet was included in packs of Duke's cigarettes.  The narrative emphasizes Forrest's functional illiteracy!

  1. I'm with y'all about the groundhog. I swear winter didn't come until he said it would be over.
